I enjoyed the artistry as much as anyone; really, I did. Bravo, very clever, very cool. An acquaintance recorded a song, "Dinner with Jeffrey" which included Dahmer's spoken testimony in his own voice as the heart of the song. Chilling indeed.

This piece as a condemnation (and I think clearly enough it is, as 100% of the comments thus far take it including the one cursing "dirty hippies") does not move me. The memorandum text is nothing but a rational analysis of a viscerally distasteful subject. I insist that feelings are not the way to approach it, given what is at stake.

It surprises me not that the memorandum author was deemed jurist enough to be confirmed by the United States Senate for a seat on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which happens to be our most liberal one. Only such minds have the dispassion and probity to do well the truly difficult decision making.

Excellent song!!! Amazing how people can try to rationalize something so despicable. Anybody who hates your song should be forced to listen to it over and over again. (In my view, it would not inflict "severe pain or suffering.") Well done!

waterboarding is torture, torture is illegal so regardless of information obtained guilty parties should be held responsible. Until torture was inflicted it was not known if it would work so because information was obtained does not make it ok! Also by using waterboarding you are saying it is ok for any foreign nation to use it against any american soldier or civilian that may be captured in the future. Where does it stop? It was wrong and people should be prosecuted. (Viet Nam Vet)

I actually read the memo before listening to the song and couldn't conceive of how you would be able to turn it into something listenable... and then I was blown away. You're an amazing musician and I'm happy and proud that there are people using their talents to bring consciousness into the world instead of snuggling into happy little thoughts and blocking out reality. Keep up the good fight...

UNBELIEVABLE! And the perps are still not only walking around, but the American people are still paying them as if the were 'just doing their jobs.' Good grief! Just because somebody... even the government... is paying you to do something, does it justify doing someing YOU KNOW is WRONG! In any case, wouldn't you agree that this sort of thing should require training. I think these guys should go through a rigorous program of practicing on each other for extended periods... say a couple hundred times each, befor they should be allowed to inflict this on anybody else!

I got this link on a tweet from Rachel Maddow. Your song totally freaked me out. They should line up all of the people who instigated the torture techniques, especially the Evil Dick, put some really good Bose headphones on them, and blast this into their ears 24/7 until they admit that they screwed up or until they start screaming. See how they like being tortured.
